The light & weight of the negative space up top...


Off the cuff~ the immediate & exceptionally intriguing point of interest to me is the figure is facing away/"hiding"~ but the overall sensibility of the piece registers as profoundly self-confrontational to me.

Utterly without affectation~ the cycling of life.

Accepting life for what it is.
Rather than a more youthful (and/or psychotic;) ) way of trying fruitlessly to rearrange cicumstances to fit ones "idea/ls" about what life should be.

It's a brave piece~ despite the facing away...Really exceptional you used such unconventional visual cues to achieve this:)

I was so surprised to see this, given how well things are going in other arenas. Then I read the description, and wonder how long ago you took it. Amazing how, in the absence of a face in which to read expression, nuances like the gripping of a finger can take on such weight and significance.
