I believe that letting go of a smile means that you are momentarily oblivious to the reality and cruelty of life. Sometimes, I cannot let go.

Occasionally, I can give a little glimpse of what might have been.

I am indeed oblivious, for only a moment. But, I cannot let go completely.

I give what I can, if only halfway.

After all, the other half is thinking about things far too serious to smile about.

iIt was suggested recently after submitting a “happy picture”, that I should try to incorporate that into some of my nude shots. After thinking about it, I thought it presented an interesting challenge as you don’t see a lot of smile nudes in general. I took a series of shots with that in mind and this is the first of those. I don’t know if I succeeded or not, I’ll let you be the judge.

I hope you like it. :)

Daily Deviation

Given 2004-07-24
We all take the female nude form for granted. Society as a whole is used to the idea of a female in an artistic nude portrait. We often leave behind or skip over beautiful masterpieces in nude art simply because they are of a male subject. Blues Away by *arachnid15 shows us that the art extends beyond the female form. This stunning example of fine art nude should be studied, as it is an excellent example of the art, and more than that, how the art should be perceived. This photo shows us that we can step back from the taboo of society, and see the human form simply for what it is, a beautiful and remarkable work of art, male or female.
