It was never my intention to show any of the “Soldier” series in color because I wanted them to have an “old” feel to them. However, Patrick has incredible blue eyes and they really came alive during that photo shoot. This is one that I left just enough color for you to see that. The shoot produced some shots I was really happy with and this was one of my favorites.

The blue of his eyes and the pink of his lips add a startlingly sensitive wash to an otherwise cold and hard expression. An interesting paradox that leaves many philosophical questions open in regard to the nature of the soldier's soul....
